julie_and_dogs.jpg  Julie with "Ouiji" and "Logan"

Julie started as a veterinary technician at Covina Animal Hospital in 1998 and is currently one of our "up front" Techs.  She is always available to talk with clients and assists them in understanding and following the veterinarians instructions.

Both of Julie's dogs are rescue dogs.  Ouiji (the chihuahua) was hit by a car in 2001 and as a result of that accident, only has one eye.  Ouiji was brought in by Dr. Wiest as a "stray" and bonded with Julie during her rehab.  Logan, (the yellow Lab) is missing a rear leg and as a newborn puppy was going to be euthanized.  Julie agreed to bottle feed him starting at one week of age.  He is now a happy bouncy 1 year old beautiful Lab!

Della, our "Office Manager", started at Covina Animal Hospital in 1973 (yes, 35 years ago) as a volunteer and joined the payroll in March of 1974.  She originally was a computer science major but switched her major to what was then called the "Animal Health Technician" program which led her to Covina Animal Hospital.  Because of her strong computer background, she was instrumental in bringing computers to our hospital in 1989 and currently maintains the more technical aspects of the software and programming needs.   Della states, "I have had the opportunity over the years to teach and do consulting work at other animal hospitals.  That experience has strongly reinforced to me what a great practice Covina Animal Hospital really is.  I recognize the high quality of Doctors, medicine, and staff that we have and always return with greater appreciation for CAH!"   She and her husband  have 3 boys and 1 girl (Julie is her daughter), 2 cats, "Chester" and "Mallory", and 3 dogs "Wesley", a chocolate Lab,  "Pepper", a Boston mix, and "Dawson", a Shepherd mix.
