Dr. Annette Ortmayer finished her undergraduate studies and Montana State University. She went on to Colorado State University to receive her Doctors in Veterinary Medicine in 1985. She joined Covina Animal Hospital in December of 1985 as an associate Veterinarian. After Dr. Chatifeld retired in 1995, Dr. Ortmayer and her husband Rick, purchased the hospital and are the current owners. Dr. Ortmayer's interests include photography and traveling. The pictures that she took on her Africa trip in 2005 are on display in our waiting room. |
Dr. Kelban obtained her B.S. in Zoology, completed her Masters degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Cal State University Northridge, and then went on the University of California Davis and obtained her DVM in 1989. She joined the staff of Covina Animal Hospital in April of 1990 and has been a valuable member of our team ever since. She has a strong interest in radiology and heads up our ultrasound team. Dr. Kelban and her husband Eric, have 2 children, 2 dogs - a Rottweiler and a Pomeranian (pictured above) a parrot, and several Koi fish.

Dr. Sonja Dais completed her B.S. in Microbiology at Colorado State University in 1994 and graduated in 1998 with her degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She then went on to do her internship at West Los Angeles Hospital in small animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Dais joined our staff at Covina Animal Hospital in May of 2003. Her hobbies include reading, working out at the gym and gardening. She currently has 3 dogs, "Sam" - an 8 year old "Treeing Walker Coonhound ", "Tess" an 8 year old Whippet, and "Max" a 4 year old Terrier who is a ball fanatic. |
Dr. Jessica Chen completed her B.S. in Veterinary Medicine at National Taiwan University and Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in Grafton, Massachusetts. She then completed her internship at Michigan State University in small animal medicine. She was born in Beaumont, Texas and is fluent in Mandrian Chinese. Dr. Chen has a strong interest in surgery . She has two cats, "Shrek" and "Fiona" that she adopted while at Michigan State University. |
